Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 16: Anger against settlement of west Pakistani refugees is brewing in Kashmir with each passing day among separatists and main stream politicians amid indications of united Jihad Council (UJC) Chief to Challenge the Parliamentary recommendations at his own.
After Mainstream Political Parties which include National Conference (NC) and Awami Itihad (AIP) of Engineer Rasheed criticized the move of Parliament to settle west Pakistani refugees in Jammu Province.
Separatist leaders who already threatened to launch agitation against the development while extending their Protest programmes now started to come on roads and disturb law and order.
Dozens of supporters of Yaseen Malik while registering protest clashed with security forces at many places here today after Friday Prayers followed by a sit in protest.
Yaseen Malik who led the protest was arrested by police and his arrest resulted in ding dong battles between Police and Protestors who also according to reports also hurled stones at security personnel.
Security forces used tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters at Maisuma who were trying to reach Lal Chowk to register their protest. According to reports Parveena Ahangar, the chairperson of Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP), who was also part of Protests was hospitalised due to asphyxiation caused by the teargas smoke shells fired by Jammu and Kashmir Police on the protesters. Parveena who fell unconscious was taken to a hospital immediately. Her condition is said to stable but is still under observation in the Hospital. Meanwhile according to reports, Chief of militant amalgam, United Jihad Council (UJC), Syed Salahuidn while indicating to handle the move of parliament to settle west Pakistani refugees at his own level has asked all separatist leaders of Kashmir to form a united front against the move of parliament to settle Pakistani refugees. He has said that people of Jammu and Kashmir must reject the proposal of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and asked separatist factions to gather at single platform and added that India is using all kinds of tactics to suppress the ongoing 'freedom struggle' in Jammu and Kashmir.
Pertinently Hardliner Separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani and UJC Chief while terming the move allegedly a conspiracy of BJP for its petty power gains had already challenged the move of parliament to grant citizenship rights to west Pakistani Refugees and threatened to launch agitation.
