Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 4: Movement for Justice for Refugees of 1947 from POJK (MJR-47), has taken exceptions to the statement of Muzaffar Hussain Beig, MP, an eminent legal luminary, regarding granting of PRC to WPR's of 1947 residing here in Jammu for the last 67 years. The issues of WPR of 1947 and DP's of 1947 from POJK are the major issues of the Kashmir Problem and we appreciate the stand taken by the PDP stalwart now, though late but never too late. His contention that allow the citizenship (PRC of J&K ), if constitution permits, yes, it does, with a little amendment/ addendum. This will send right message to all those who have right humanistic thinking to the resolution of the Kashmir Issue once for all. One thing more for M.H. Beig, the issue of WP Refugges cannot be equated in any way legally or even circumstantially with refugees from Bangladesh or Burma or Sri Lanka etc., as these people had been forced to migrate due to partition of our country for which they had legal sanction. And the stalwart leader of J&K Late Jenab Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah had given his sanctions to these people to stay on in the state. And now after 67 years we don't have any moral or even legal right to tell them to go away, they observed. It is sheer lackadaisical and inhuman attitude of successive state govt. and central leadership that the Jammu city alias Jammu province known as City of Temples , has been converted into a city of refugees. May it be DP"s of 1947 from POJK, Chammb refugees of 1965 , !971 , Refugees from West Pakistan of 1947 or Migrants from Kashmir Valley or refugees from other far flung areas of J&K state viz. Doda -Kishtwar etc, they observed. The recommendation of packages by state govt. as well as by Parliamentary committee has vindicated our stand holding it to be genuine, and justifying for immediate sanction. With the kind of message for humanity that the Sr. PDP leader Mr. Beig has given, the PDP leadership has been given a cue to move ahead for a solution to long pending issues and ultimately the Kashmir Problem. With the same spirit which PM Narindar Modi has shown so far , MJR47 have high hopes for justice from the coming BJP-PDP alliance govt. in J&K. |
