Early Times Report

Kishtwar, Feb 4: A day after "Early Times" published a news item titled "RTO Jammu ignores Commissioner's order---Fail to repatriate SRTC officials working with MVD" on 3-2-2015 wherein it was stated that despite clear directions from Commissioner Secretary Transport Department, Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Jammu was reluctant to repatriate SRTC officials working with Motor Vehicle Department, earlier engaged by the government on stop gap basis soon after the creation of new Districts. The RTO Jammu today relieved all such employees working in his and associate offices after senior government officials take the cognizance of the news item.
As per the details available with Early Times soon after assuming the office today, RTO summoned all SRTC employees working in his office and directed them to report back to their original place of posting and without wasting any time relieved all such employees and send the compliance note to senior officials of the department. Similar steps were also taken by ARTO's of various Districts of the state and order for immediate relieving of all such employees. It is pertinent to mention that Commissioner Secretary Transport Department vide Government order No. 9-TR of 2015 dated 29-01-2015 directed RTO Jammu and Assistant Regional Transport Officers of the state to immediately repatriate 45 SRTC officials including Inspectors, Senior assistants, Junior assistants, conductors cum clerks & Booking Managers from MV Department to parental department (SRTC) with immediate effect as 14 posts of Motor Vehicle Inspectors and 16 posts of Junior Assistants have already been filled up by the MV Department against clear vacancies through SSB/GAD and all the selectees have even joined the department and order for their immediate repatriation to SRTC department from MV Department, but RTO Jammu as well as certain ARTOs were seen reluctant to relieve the SRTC employees working in their office, the raises the suspicious as some of these SRTC employees working in RTO Jammu office are even facing cases of corruption registered against them with Crime Branch Jammu in "Token Tax Scam".
