JMC launches anti encroachment drive, seizes three truck load of material

Jammu, Feb 4: Continuing anti encroachments drive to clear the footpaths / pavements from encroachments, Enforcement Staff led by Chief Enforcement Officer of Jammu Municipal Corporation under the guidance of Kiran Wattal Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu undertook the drive in the areas of Bikram Chowk, Nai Basti, Gangyal, Bye Pass road, Narwal, Jammu. During the drive the team seized three truck loads of material including ten no's of Reharies kept stationary causing inconvenience to the pedestrians and also in the free flow of the vehicular traffic.
Besides this, the team also demolished 05 no's of temporary encroachments erected upon footpaths in these areas. The drive has been conducted with the help of police from District Police lines Jammu. JMC appealed to the shopkeepers to keep their goods within their shops / establishments to avoid seizure of these goods and penalty for such defaults.
