Jammu, Feb 4: MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta on Wednesday laid foundation stone of Sulabh Shauchalaya complex here at Vivekananda chowk. According to press release, he was accompanied by the Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation Kiran Wattal and Chairman Sulabh International A.K. Singh besides Xen’s Arvind and Paramjeet Singh. Endorsing the initiative undertaken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to adopt cleanliness on priority through Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the MLA Jammu East said that it is imperative that people should contribute collectively in making the country clean of solid waste besides the ills of corruption, crime against women, illiteracy, drugs, etc. In his address, the JMC Commissioner emphasized that making judicious use of such edifice is the key to improve vicinity as often it is seen that people urinate and even defecate in open making surroundings filthy and unhygienic. He stressed upon the people to utilize the services in a manner that these will cater to their needs for a longer duration. "Misusing and damaging the public property is ultimately the loss of the people", he asserted. Prominent among those who accompanied the MLA and attended the foundation laying ceremony included Sunil Sharma, Ashwani Sharma, Govind Sareen, Murari Lal, Inderjeet Khajuria, Dalip Gupta, Girdhari Lal, Rajesh, Kuldeep, Chaman Lal, Rajkumar, Surinder Anand, Amit, and others. |
