Young girl jumps into River Basantar in Samba, dies 2/4/2015 10:58:00 PM Early Times Report jammu, Feb 4: A 22-year-old girl today died after she allegedly jumped into River Basantar in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, police here said. A case in this regard stands registered The deceased has been identified namely as Shallu Heer d/o Ramesh Lal of Trikuta Nagar Jammu while the boy has been named as Vimal Sharma S/o Chhaju Ram of Nonath Ghagwal (Samba). According to police sources, the girl alongwith her friend was travelling in a car bearing regd no: JK21 9100 from Ghagwal and as the car reached at the bridge she asked the boy to stop the car. "To the surprise of passersby and the boy in car the girl jumped from the bridge resulting fatal injuries to her, sources said. Police sources said that passersby raised an alarm following which police flying squad rushed to the spot and launched the rescue operation. "'The girl was immediately shifted to the District Hospital Samba but she did not respond to the treatment and succumbed to her injuries," police added.
