srinagar, Feb 4: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) media incharge Kashmir today appealed Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra, to address the exorbitant fare charged by passenger vehicle owners. According to press release, Altaf Thakur said that despite continuous fall in petrol and diesel prices in the market after the BJP formed the government in Centre, there was no respite to the common people. "In last few months fuel prices were sharply cut, but passengers are continuously charges exorbitant fare," Thakur said. He slammed transporters for charging exorbitant and unjustified fare, despite fall in the prices of petrol and diesel. "Charging exorbitant fare is unjustified and illogical, and drivers should reduce the fare charges on moral grounds," he said and adding that people in the state are facing financial hardships due to the last year's devastating floods and open loot of "poor" people have added into their miseries. He further said that the transporters are the part of the society and they should understand their responsibility towards society. "I appeal governor to look into the matter and provide much needed relief to the general public," he said. |
