Kathua, Feb 4: 60th National School Games organized in discipline of the Roll Ball U/19 Years boys and Girls where Naveen Agarwal, Director General, Youth Services and Sports was the chief guest in inaugural Function.
While addressing on the occasion, Director General, Youth Services & Sports Navin Aggarwal has said that sports and youth activities are dire need to built up young India to
glorify the nation for all times to come . He said that India has a tremendous talent in general and the State of Jammu and Kashmir in particular but the need to explore the possibility to bring to light the hidden talent of young generation by way of providing sports and activities facilities at their steps.
He also thanked the district administration and management of DPS School for giving support in making this national event possible in the district Kathua despite scarcity of required infrastructure. Navin Aggarwal, IPS said that elaborate arrangements had been made for boarding and lodging for the contingents of the states reported from across the country. MLA Basohli Lal Singh appreciated the efforts of the department of YSS for organizing such a prestigious National Sports event at District Level, added that such event will be instrumental for the promotion of sports and games.
Meanwhile, the inauguration of first Physical Training Park in the District Samba was held on today in the premises of MV International School. Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament inaugurated the park amidst loud cheer by the students, staff and the parents.
Sham Lal Choudhary, MLA Suchetgarh, Chander Parakash Ganga, MLA Vijaypur, Naveen Agarwal, IPS, Director General, Department of Youth Services & Sports, Sheetal Nanda, IAS, DC Samba, Joginer Singh SSP, Samba, S. S Sambyal SDPO, Samba, Ashok Kumar Vice President SGFI, and other dignitary of District Administration were present on the occasion of 60th National School Games-2015.
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest said that these psychomotor park activities help to understand difference between thoughts and actions. He congratulated the Chairman Sh. Hira Lal Abrol for achieving such a unique distinction and lauded his efforts to uplift the Health standards of students along with intellectual activities. He added that this park will develop self confidence through physical fitness and mental strong individuals.
This venture by MVIS will definitely train its students for strong Physical Health & Endurance.
Obstacle course consists of Hurdles, Verticals bar, Spider Web, Push Ups, Horizontal Bar, Tarzan Jump, Rope Climbing. |
