JAMMU, Feb 4: Government Degree College (GDC) Bhaderwah shall be playing against GDC Ramnagar in their maiden final of the ongoing inter-college cricket tournament, organised by Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu on the campus, here tomorrow. Earlier, in the semifinals, played today, GDC Bhaderwah trounced GDC Poonch by five wickets. Batting first, GDC Poonch set a target of 85 runs for six wickets in 15 overs game, which, in reply, Bhaderwah successfully chased making 89 runs in 13.4 overs for the loss of five wickets. Amarveer Singh remained top scorer with 35 runs coming off 26 deliveries while Kartik and Mohd Arif contributed 20 and 13 runs respectively. From GDC Bhaderwah, Mubisher claimed three wickets for 16 runs in three overs. Later, GDC Bhaderwah chased the total making 89 runs sparing 1.2 overs of their innings losing five wickets. Nitin made highest 22 runs off 11 deliveries. Rahul and Deepak added 19 and 16 runs respectively while Manjeet made 14 runs. From GDC Poonch, Zahid Ali and Kartik shared two wickets each while Jahanzab took one. Meanwhile, in other semifinal, GDC Ramnagar registered a narrow four runs win against GDC Rajouri. Earlier, Ramnagar won the toss and made 107 runs for two wickets in 15 overs game. Rohit Sharma played superb innings of 59 runs coming off 25 deliveries studded with six fours and one six. Tilak Raj contributed valuable 22 runs. In reply, GDC Rajouri exhausted their quota of 15 overs short of four runs to the opponent total at 103 runs thereby lost the match. Tahir Mohammad made 28-ball 33 runs hitting four boundaries while Mohd Sajid and Abrab Ahmed were other main scorers with 24 and 17 runs in their respective accounts. From GDC Ramnagar, Tilak Raj took two wickets, followed by Parveen Singh, who secured one wicket. Today's semifinals officiated by the technical penal comprising Vijay Dogra, Saleem-ur-Rehman and Raj Kumar while Manu Khajuria maintained the scorecard. |
