Scrap dealer held for unauthorized sale of army items

Jammu, Feb 4: Trikuta Nagar Police today claimed to have arrested a person for selling the army items illegally. A case stands registered in this regard.
As per police sources, based on the complaint lodged with police by Major Suresh Babu of 9 Corps, Satwari, alleging therein one Vijay Kumar , a scarp dealer at Rama Channi, had been selling army's items including fiber plates (being used in bullet proof jackets) to the customers.
"Accordingly the concerned police conducted a raid at the scrap dealer shop and seized the material besides secured his arrest, police sources said.
During questioning the accused told police that he had purchased the material from a Punjab based scrap dealer namely Gourav Kabadi. SDPO East Rafiq Manhas when confirmed the reports of arrest and added that a case in this regard stands registered against accused under FIR 4/2014,u/s188 RPC. He added that the further investigations of the case are in progress.
