Jammu, Feb 4: Prof. R. D. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu in presence of the concerned officials held an interactive session with the Research Scholars in the Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu here this afternoon. The interaction lasted for four hours. Vice Chancellor answered the various queries raised by the students. Prof. Sharma appreciated students for frankly and openly, without any exaggeration, putting forth their views and asked them to be a part of the system. He called upon students to channelize their energy and asked them to regulate their conduct so as to become good citizens. Giving a patient hearing to the problems faced by the students, Vice Chancellor assured them that every possible step will be taken to redress their problems. He further said that the University being a public institution has to follow certain norms for getting the things done in the normal course of time. All present in the hall appreciated the advice of the Vice-chancellor to the students to raise their grievances first internally in the University system itself rather than raising it elsewhere as University being their second home. Vice Chancellor passed on-spot instructions to the concerned officials of some of the problems which need immediate redressal. Earlier the Scholars from various departments of the University highlighted their problems and sought their redressal. The Scholars appreciated the initiative taken by the Vice Chancellor which has never been taken in the past. Among others present include Prof. Posh Charak, Dean Research Studies, Prof. Keshav Sharma, Controller Examinations, Prof. Pankaj Srivastav, Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Ramnika Jalali and Prof. Jasbir Singh, Provost Hostels, Prof. Vibhakar Mansotra, Director , Centre for IT & Enabled Services, Sh. Jai Kumar Sharma, Special Secretary to VC, Sh. Sanjeev Mahajan, Joint Registrar, Prof. Parikshat S. Manhas, Associate Dean,members of JURSEA and other officials of the University were also present. |
