udhampur, Feb 10: With an objective to develop the potentials of youths and patriotism in them in the district, a five-day National Integration Camp was organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Udhampur, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (GOI) in collaboration with Mukti youth Club, Udhampur here today. As many as over 150 youths from seven different states including Punjab, HP, Haryana, Uttaranchal, UP, Rajasthan, New Delhi, and host state Jammu and Kashmir are participating in the camp. The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal inaugurated the said five day-long event at New Community Hall, Udhampur. In her inaugural address, DDC UDhampur Yasha Mudgal exhorted the participants upon to put joint efforts for the development of the country. Impressing upon the organizers to utilize the talent of the youth for development of the nation, the special invitee encouraged them for establishing their own income generating units in the district. She also asked the participants to be responsible in taking their own culture forward and become the 'ambassador of their state' during the event. District Youth Coordinator Nehru Yuva Kendra, Udhampur Nissar Ahmed in his address appealed the youth to come forward and register Mahila Mandals and youth clubs and affiliated with Nehru Yuva Kendra to which government provide funds and assistances to carry various activities related to youth welfare. During the event, the District Information Centre (DIC) Udhampur presented documentaries on "National Integration" and "Save the Girl Child" to create awareness among the gathering about the two subjects. |
