LMD conducts market checking in Jammu, Reasi | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 10 : Market checking team of Legal Metrology Department (LMD) headed by Deputy Controller Enforcement V. S. Sambyal conducted checking of the traders dealing with meat, Kiryana, fruits, vegetables, cakes, bakery, stationery and sweets in the areas of Kacchi Chawni, Canal road, Talab Tillo, New Plot, Akhnoor, Raghunath Bazaar and Paloura. The team fined forty five traders violating different provisions of Jammu and Kashmir Weights and Measures (Enforcement) Act, 1997 and Rules with respect to sale of packs of Biscuits without Net Weight, overcharging, less delivery of meat and use of unverified weighing instruments in commercial transactions. A fine of Rs 50,100 was imposed on 45 erring traders during the inspection. Deputy Controller Enforcement has also informed that in case of non supply of home delivery LPG by respective dealers to consumers, they can e-mail their complaints on the e-mail address Vinod. sambyal [email protected] indicating their consumer number, date of booking and name of LPG supply agency. At Reasi also a team of Legal Metrology Department (LMD) headed by the Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Reasi-Rajesh Heera today conducted surprise checking of various business establishments especially kiryana shops, Ration Dealers, Provisional Stores, dealer, Hardware shops and Vegetable/ Fruit Sellers on Reasi-Katra road and booked five traders for violation of various provisions of J&K Weights and Measures Enforcement Act 1997 and Package Commodities Rules. A penalty of Rs 4400 was also imposed on the erring traders. |
