JMC conducts encroachment drive, removes illegal structures | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 10 : In an extensive and exclusive day long anti encroachment drive the enforcement staff led by the chief enforcement officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation under the guidance of Kiran Wattal Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu conducted drive in the areas on Jammu-Akhnoor Road, Indira Chowk, Jammu. During the drive the team seized eight truck loads of material comprising of stationary reharies, wooden logs, steel tor, chairs, benches, wooden frames, crates, steel / wooden platforms flowers pots, tables, stationery items etc and impounded the seized material in the Municipal Yard at Town Hall, Jammu. Besides this, the team also demolished 12 temporary structure erected upon pavements and also removed two Gen-Sets at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu which were a source of obstruction to the pedestrians and hindrance in the free flow of vehicular traffic. The drive has been conducted with the help of police from District Police lines Jammu. Further, Municipal Veterinary Officer on the directions of Municipal Commissioner, Kiran Wattal conducted a drive against use of polythene carry bags in the area of Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Jewel and Talab Tiloo. 10 kg of polythene carry bags seized and fine to the tune of Rs.4300 has been realized from the defaulters. The Jammu Municipal Corporation once again appealed to the reharies owners / pullers to keep the reharies mobile and request the shopkeepers to refrain from making encroachments and keep their goods within their shops / establishments to avoid seizure of these goods and penalty for such defaults. |
