Jammu, Feb 10 : Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Jammu Kashmir is going to celebrate Parents Worship Day on 14th February instead of "Valentine's Day".
This was disclosed by Secretary of the Sabha Sat Pal Singh Rathore during a Press Conference here at Geeta Bhawan, Jammu on Tuesday.
He stated that Grand function shall be organized on February-14th at Geeta Bhawan, Parade Ground, Jammu on the eve of Matri-Pitra Poojan Diwas (Parents Worship Day). These days, we find increasing lack of accord between parents and children. The consequent untoward incidents and increasing number of people resorting to old age homes have become a cause of concern.
"Let the Children worship their parents, apply tilak on their foreheads and cirumambulate them. And let the parents apply tilak on their children's foreheads and hug them. If the child pays obeisance to the parents knowing them to be equal of God as per scriptural ordinance, the parents too will bless the child and shower kindness and affection on him or her and the boys and girls of my country will become great", said Rathore. |
