Vijaypur, Feb 10: A symposium on Drug Abuse was organized by Department of Information Samba at Government Girls Middle School Bari Brahmana here today to create awareness among people about the drug abuse and its menace.
Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Vijaypur, Gopal Khajuria, was the chief guest while Panch Ghulam Nabi attended the occasion as the guest of honour. Balbir singh Cultural Asstt, Information Department, others staff besides school students and faculty of school were present on this occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest, ZEO Vijaypur appreciated the Information Deptt for organising such programmes in the schools and advised the students to concentrate on studies and stay away from drugs. He also presented certificates and trophies as sponsored by the Information Department to the participants.
Thirteen participants of various schools viz GHSS Bari Brahmna, GMS Raya , GGMS Kotli Birpur, GGMS Patti, GMS Talab Datta participated in the function and a panel of judges adjudged the performances of the students.
Kirti Kashyap of 8th from GGMS Bari Brahmna, Pushpanjali of 9th of GGHS Bari Brahmna, Sonia Devi of 8th of GMS Patti were declared as the top winners respectively. |
