POONCH, Feb 10: Royal Cricket Club made it 11 runs win against Government degree College (GDC) Poonch in the ongoing Police Twenty20 Tournament at GDC ground, here today. Earlier, batting first, Royal set a target of 132 runs, which, in reply, GDC Poonch could not chase and fell short of 11 runs to match the opponent total. Salman remained top scorer with 36 runs while Nazarat and Waqar contributed 33 and 29 runs respectively. From GDC Poonch, Riaz emerged as most successful bowler, who took three wickets. Later, GDC Poonch batsmen could not resist the disciplined bowling of Royal Club bowlers and completed their innings short by 11 runs to the opponent total. Except for Zahid Ali (36) and Gorav Sharma (33), who showed some resistance, rest of the batsmen gave away easy wickets. From Royal Club, Altaf and Irfan caused most the damage to the GDC battling line up taking away three wickets each. In today's match, Dr Zakir Malik was special guest while DySPs, Khalid Ameen, Sheezan Bhatt and Sagra Singh were among other prominent present. |
