Rajouri people flay CAPD Deptt for non availability of ration | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Feb 10: Inhabitants of various far flung areas of Rajouri district have been complaining of non-availability of ration especially rice at the fair price shops being run by the state government the courtesy and the main reason behind it that Public Distribution (CAPD) department has not released 'Release Orders' as the department is facing financial crunch. This came to light today when about 40 drivers and their helpers held a protest demonstration inside the Food Corporation of India's (FCI) godown alleging that for the last more than 25 days they have been waiting for unloading of Rice bags which were sent to Rajouri by the contractors of FCI from Mukerian and Tanda in Punjab. The alleged that the FCI's godown at Rajouri is already filled with ration bags beyond to its capacity and the in-charge has refused to unload the trucks. Pertinent to mention that even the district administration has failed to provide free ration to most of the September month's flood victims reportedly claiming that there was a shortage of ration supply from the CA&PD department. On the other hand the FCI godown at Rajouri having ration supply beyond its capacity, however the CAPD department authorities have no money to purchase the ration from Food Corporation of India's ac(FCI) godown at Rajouri. "The matter has been several times taken up with the General Manager and District Manager (area manager) FCI at Jammu but no response has been received from them till today" said Joginder in-charge FCI depot at Rajouri. |
