NABARD organizes one day workshop on Financial Inclusion | | | Early Times Report
Doda, Feb 10 : A workshop on FINACIAL INCLUSION was organized for the benefit of the farmers, SHGs, BCs and the general public by NABARD at Doda. General Manager NABARD J&K RO R V Sharma was the CHIEF GUEST on this occassion .In his elaborate address he enlightened the participants about the need of financial inclusion and explained why the farmers are the main focus of financial inclusion programme. He apprised the members about the initiatives taken by NABARD from time to time especially through the formation of the SHGs in this direction. He also apprised the gathering why in today's scenario the opening of bank account by every family has become even more important because now all the subsidies whether of kerosene ,cooking gas, 32 central govt sponsored schemes or of MNREGA payments will be directly credited in the accounts of the beneficiaries with the sole aim to tackle the menace of corruption and this initiative will definitely make the life of COMMON MAN more comfortable. LDM SBI apprised the gathering about the saving and the credit products being offered by banks to the public for bringing more and more people within the fold of formal banking. DDM NABARD in his concluding address apprised the participants about the background of FINANCIAL INCLUSION movement, how it started with establishment of Cooperative Society Act of 1904 followed by BANK Nationalization of 1969 and 1975, establishment of RRBs in 1975 and the present day MICRO CREDIT movement which is biggest in the world and how it has been able to lift millions of poor's out of the curse of poverty. He urged upon the participants to come forward and take advantage of this movement and come out of the clutches of the SOHUKARS and the MONEYLENDERS. Director R-SETI also addressed the participants of the financial inclusion workshop. |
