BEd, MEd courses to be started in Bhaderwah campus

BHADERWAH, Feb 10: Long pending demand of the people of erstwhile District Doda to open B.Ed and M.Ed courses at Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu is all set to get fulfilled as the Jammu University has given green signal for opening of such courses. Since Bhaderwah Campus was inaugurated in 2006, people of erstwhile Doda district especially people of Bhaderwah-Bhalessa were demanding opening of B-Ed and M-Ed courses at Bhaderwah Campus. According to the sources, the process of the opening of B-Ed course at Bhaderwah Campus is in final stages at Jammu University and classes will likely to start in next academic session. Since Prof. G.M.Bhat took over as Rector of Bhaderwah Campus, sources said that Bhat was very keen to open courses like B-Ed and M-Ed at Bhaderwah Campus, sources said adding that more job oriented courses will be introduces at Bhaderwah Campus in future also. They added that an official of Jammu University had during his visit to Bhaderwah Campus to inaugurate Bhaderwah Youth Festival announced that B-Ed, M-Ed and other courses will be started in the Campus. Rector Bhaderwah Campus Prof. G.M.Bhat said that it was the long pending demand of the people of the Chenab belt and in coming academic session Bhaderwah Campus will likely start B-Ed course followed by M.Ed and other science courses.
With the opening of B-Ed course at Bhaderwah Campus, this will not only benefit students of Chenab belt but also students from Himachal Pradesh and Kathua. Prof. GM Bhat further informed that many projects of Bhaderwah Campus are in pipe line. He said that change of Summer Zone into Winter Zone at Bhaderwah Campus is also in the pipeline. Meanwhile civil society of Bhaderwah has welcomed the decision of University of Jammu to open B.Ed course at Bhaderwah. It is a welcome step to start such courses," said Hafiz Khateeb, President Bhaderwah Development Forum adding that more such courses be opened in the Campus.
