CPPWU urges Governor to start work of HE projects in Kishtwar | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Feb 10: Executive members of Chinar Power Projects Workers Union (CPPWU) District Kishtwar on Tuesday urged upon the Governor of J&K to immediately start the execution of Pakal Dul, Kero, Kawar, Karthi and Burser HE Projects situated in District Kishtwar so that the unemployed youths could get employment opportunity in these projects . Speaking on the ocassion , Chairman Joginder Bhandari said that the Pakal Dul HE project having generating capacity of 1020 MW electricity has been accorded all no objection certificates by all the concerned departments and CC for rupees twenty two thousand and eight hundred crores stands cleared for which land has been acquired and work stands allotted to Patel company by the Chenab Valley Power Projects (CVPP) but regretted delay into the starting of its execution ,the reason best known to the management of CVPP. He criticised the management of Chenab Valley Power Projects for making backdoor appointments in Pakal Dul H.E Project at the cost of local deserving unemployed youths. He said a large number of youths from outside the state have been appointed in the said project by the CVPP ignoring the deserving educated youths of the area. He has also demanded resumption of work upon the Rattle hydroelectric project Drabshalla of which the work was suspended by M/s GVK in the month of July last year without any solid reason as a result of which about 493 workers were retrenched . |
