Pakistan sheds crocodile tears over ceasefire violations
Behind the veil
2/24/2018 11:25:24 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 24 :-Pakistan has repeated its contention that Indian troops have been responsible for violating ceasefire agreement.Though each day Pakistani troops resort to ceasefire violation on different sectors on the LOC and whenever the Indian troops retaliate Islamabad is furious in blaming India for killing people and soldiers.
This is what has happened on Friday as the Indian troops retaliated and in the retaliation number of posts were demolished killing Pak soldiers and some militants Islamabad immediately took some officials of the embassies in Pakistan to show vast devastation carried by the Indian troops. But the Indian troops and New Delhi do not cry hoarse over regular ceasefire violations resorted to by the Pakistani forces whether on the LOC or on the IB because New Delhi has given full freedom to its troops to retaliate with force and fury forcing the Pakistani guns to fall silent.
Pakistan has said it had arranged a visit of defence attaches of six countries, including from four permanent members of the UN, to the Line of Control to brief them about "Indian atrocities".
A Pakistan Army spokesman said in a statement that defence attaches of the US, the UK, France, China, Turkey and Indonesia visited the various sectors on the LOC where they witnessed incidents of damages caused by the Indian ceasefire violations. This tour was aimed at influencing the US which plans to stop giving military and economic aid to Pakistan. What about those several thousand people who have fled to safer places because of the scare caused by frequent ceasefire violations by the P:akistani troops. ..
As a result of strong retaliation by the Indian troops the Pak Rangers and the BSF officials held a flag meeting at Suchetgarh. The two sides have held series of meetings but after every meeting Pakistani Rangers resort to violation of ceasefire agreement. The Army has claimed to have foiled a Border Action Team (BAT) attack along the Line of Control in the Tangdhar sector of the frontier Kupwara district
The BAT action was foiled a day after Inspector General, BSF, Sonali Mishra said two Pakistani soldiers were killed in Tangdhar on Wednesday in retaliatory fire. The Army said the raid at a forward post in Tangdhar was foiled on Thursday night when alert troops detected the BAT movement, which was supported by the Pakistan army.
"The Border Action Team comprising terrorists and actively supported by heavy shelling and mortar fire from multiple Pakistan posts tried to raid a forward post in Tangdhar. Alert Indian Army troops detected the movement of the BAT men who were trying to creep towards our post under the cover of heavy fire by enemy posts and effectively repulsed it, causing casualties," an Army statement said
"The exchange of fire continued for an hour as the frustrated Pakistan army posts tried to cause damage to our posts but failed in their nefarious designs due to the tough and offensive spirit shown by our Army troops," it added.
The Army said it was the second day in a row when the Pakistan army had tried such action in the Tangdhar sector.
The Tangdhar sector has been tense since Tuesday after BSF Constable Sunil Murmu of 124 Battalion was killed in sniper fire.
The BSF IG had yesterday said that Army and BSF were ready to tackle any situation along the LoC. "We are ready for infiltration, BAT action, standoff fire, sniping… the alertness along the LoC is always high,"It has been revealed.
