Unprovoked mortar shelling by Pak troops continues, several forward areas affected

RAJOURI, Feb 27: Haji Faiz Mohd and his family at village Kundi Nakar in Manjakot tehsil in Rajouri district had narrow escape when a mortar shell hit the live stock shed near the house resulting in injuries to live stock.
A team of officials including veterinary doctor/staff lead by Mehmood Ahmed, tehsildar and SDPO, Manjakot rushed to the area to take stock of the situation.
Sources said a mortar shell also fell near the cooking house of Border Security Force (BSF) at forward location in Rajdhani area.
"Two constables including Dhana Shekhar having service of 18 years and Balvinder Singh (cook) having 4 years service received splinter injuries when a mortar shell exploded near the cooking house and were rescued to army hospital after provided with first aid on the spot" said source.
In Manjakot sector, including LambiBari, Khorinar,Dhar areas, Pakistan army resorted to heavy shelling at about 8.45 am and mortar shells besides hiting the areas near forwar posts also landed in the villages.
"5-8 mortar shells fell near the high school at Khorinar where 8th class examination was scheduled for today. On the directions from the Chief Education Officer (CEO) the school was closed and examination centre was shifted to nearby primary school at Hattian" said a teacher.
Reports of students trapped in the schools during shelling also appeared on social media groups creating confusion for the district administration.
While refuting any such incident of trapping of the students in the schools, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhry, DDC twitted today, "No student stuck in any of the schools in Rajouri district today".
Education department had closed 27 government schools in Manjakot education zone after heavy shelling on the LoC.
