2/27/2018 10:50:19 PM
Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Feb 27: The High Court today came down heavily on state government for its failure to finalize the Master Plan for Gulmarg even as it granted further three weeks time to complete the exercise to avoid personal appearance of all the concerned officials.
As soon as the hearing started before a division bench of Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir and Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, Additional Advocate GeneralM A Beigh moved application seeking three weeks time with regard to the finalization of master plan.
"In the year 2017 direction was issued regarding preparation and finalization of Master plan. We are now in the year 2018; till date same has not fructified," said the division bench said. In view of the submission made by AAG three weeks' time is granted, the court said. "If any positive decision is not taken and status report not filed on the next date, the Bench will be constrained to call for personal appearance of all the concerned who have delayed the process."
The Pollution Control Board submitted the report wherein it is stated that out of 14 Category-A hotels having more than 19 rooms were inspected in the month of December 2017. Four hotels were found functional and samples were collected from these hotels and sent for analysis, whereas in five hotels STPs were found frozen; two hotels were found without any commercial activities and one STP was damaged due to winters.
In compliance to the direction passed by the court on 27 December last year, Chief Executive Officer, Gulmarg Development Authority has submitted the report regarding beneficiaries of the lessee and the details thereof.
