| Ajas residents protests in support of Degree College | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 27: Residents from Ajas area of north Kashmir's Band-ipora district staged protest in the press calves Jammu, under banner of Tehsil Welfare committee the government over their demand of establishment of Degree College in the area
Protesters were also carrying placards displaying "we want Degree College".
"We have been neglected by the successive Governments, but this time we hope that the area will get the college which is need of the hour. We hope that justice will be done and the college will be established in the area," the aggrieved protesters said.
"Our children are being forced to cover long distances to reach their colleges in and around Srinagar as there is no Degree College in our area at present," said an elderly resident.
We are far away from two existing degree Colleges and our students are facing lot of problems due to non-availability of college, we are 25 kms away from each existing colleges and we have at least 3000 college students studying in different colleges.... especially girls are facing Sot of problems... said Smran Rather.
Protestors appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Minister for Education Altaf Bukhari to look into the matter and fulfil their demand at an earliest. |
