Early Times Report

SAMBA, Feb 27: A delegation of Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha J&K along with residents of Gurah Salathia met with Deputy Commissioner Samba and presented a memorandum of demands with regard to unfortunate killing of Kultar Singh of Mandi Gurah Slathia, by militants at Chara-e-Sharif, Kashmir. The president Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha J&K, Narayan Singh was heading the delegation accompanied by Capt Inder Singh Sambyal, Distt President Rajput Sabha Samba. The delegation submitted memorandum of demands which include protection of shrines and norms of deployment of police staff / guard for protection thereof. An enquiry should be initiated.
The State as well as Shri Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha J&K has lost one of its valiant soldier of J&K Armed Police Kultar Singh while guarding the shrine at Charar-e-Sharif. He attained martyrdom at the hands of militants. The death of the soldier apparently caused due to non-deployment of sufficient strength of staff there, which is sheer negligence on the part of the commandant of the Battalion. Had there been other staff, the militants could have been encountered then and there. Rajput Sabha demands that drastic action be taken against that officer responsible for this happening. The memorandum further said it has been noticed that Kultar Singh had been transferred and posted somewhere in the department but not relieved by the concerned officer. Reasons for non-relieving of the Constable be ascertained and the officer concerned be held responsible for this lapse. The delegation also demanded adequate compensation to the family of the deceased.
The Deputy Commissioner Samba listened to the demands of the Sabha patiently and assured the delegation that she will take up the issue with the state government and the outcome of the same shall be apprised accordingly.
