Machail Yatra Management Committee meets Div Com Jammu
2/27/2018 11:16:33 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 27: A deputation of the Machail Yatra Management Committee of Sarv Shakti Sewak Sanstha, J&K today called on Divisional Commissioner Jammu. The committee apprised in depth the great confusion & Chaotic Atmosphere created by the Local and District Administration at base camp Gulabgarh Paddar in 2017 with regards to great interferences in respect of providing helicopter services to the pilgrimages of Machail Yatra. The Divisional Commissioner was told as to how the local SDM, BDO, SDPO and SHO induldged in applying undue influence and pressure on Helicopter Staff for arranging priority according to their choice and convenience to their Kith & Kins, relatives and Friends etc at the cost of those devotees who had already booked their tickets in advance. That resulted into unexpected and undue wait fot the genuine and deserving ticket holders/pilgrimages at the base camp Gulabgarh Paddar,
The Chaos created by the administration made the genuine persons disappointed and dishearten while returning back to to their native places without having darshans of Chandi Maa. keeping aside the part and fault of local administration, there was a lot of criticism of our Sanstha also without any concern and reason as the local administration at no point of time has discussed or taken into confidence our Sanstha as far as helicopter services are concerned. As it is a matter of fact that our Sanstha is instrumental and service provider to the pilgrimages coming for this annual Yatra at Gulabgarh Paddar.. The divisional Commissioner was informed that the Sanstha has arranged the Helicopter services in 2009 and 2010 to the entire satisfaction of the devotees and it is only because of unpresidential mismanagement in 2017 that the Sanstha has decided to take the affairs in its hand in 2018 as per General Resolution passed by it unanimously. He was further apprised that the two Air Companies who operated in 2017 namely the UT Air and Pawan Hans Limited violated the terms and Conditions of Agreement and have not paid the royalty to the Sanstha in shape of Landing Charges
The Divisional Commissioner was further handed over a photo copy of the tickets where in the aforesaid companies have over charged the rates fixed by the administration. They have also violated the SRO 264 by the state government regarding exemption of GST. The Divisional Commissioner assured for initiating in-depth inquiry into the matter and also to look into the issues raised by the Sanstha so as to have a smooth and trouble free forthcoming Yatra for the year 2018.
