JAMMU, Feb 27: A single Bench of Jammu and Kashmir High Court has directed the Collector and acquisition Ramban to make payment of the amount as compensation of walnut trees and fruit trees damaged in the acquisition of the said land for construction of road as assessed by the Chief Horticulture Officer. In this petition, the petitioner had sought directions to expedite the release of the payment of compensation of walnut trees and fruit trees damaged in the land of the petitioner bearing Khasra No.490/181 situated at village Kundi Karle Tehsil and district Ramban which is forcibly acquired by the respondents for the construction of road from Karle to Kumait under PMGSY and assessment made by the respondent No.6, i.e. the Chief Horticulture Officer, Ramban within a reasonable time frame. In view of the submissions made and in the facts of the case, Justice Alok Aradhe disposed off the writ petition with the direction to respondent No.3, namely, Collector, Land Acquisition, Ramban to take a decision with regard to payment of amount of compensation to the petitioner by a speaking order within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of the order passed today. |
