Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 7: Soon after union Health Ministry allotted 15 more Post Graduate seats to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, it has become talk of the town and people are keen to see as to who will become a scapegoat for getting less seats.
It needs to be mentioned that last year GMC Jammu had got 13 seats and then Principal of the institution become scapegoat for losing the seats.
"Apparently reluctant to enhance, the Principal of the college has deliberately given poor response to Medical Council of India's queries about shortcomings, "aspirants told Early Times, adding that GMC Jammu intentionally had showed non-serious approach to the reminders sent by the MCI for last many years.
"Their reluctance to respond, GMC Jammu had an opportunity to add at least 20 or more post-graduation seats to its existing pool. The management of the GMC Jammu had responsible for the unprecedented and irreparable loss caused to the aspirants of Jammu in the form of denial PG seats, "they alleged.
Doctors of GMC Jammu, seeking anonymity, told that it was completely failure on the part of administration because they were never serious to improve things in this medical college Jammu. Even, the administration has failed to project things right way before parental department as well as MCI. They also misguided them by giving inappropriate information regarding the shortcomings pointed out by MCI.
They also accused political leadership is also responsible for failure to monitor things personally. Instead of above said, one or two junior doctor has appointed to look after all the affairs, works and other, taking benefits these doctor are feeding wrong information or always raise particular issues with personal interest.
They asked whenever health department get any excellence award, officials and Minister do pat their back but when failure occur, no one comes forward to take its responsibility. Who will be responsible for degrading the precious health institution?.
Last time, then Principal Dr Zahild Gaillani had become scapegoat and Minister for Health sacked him for his failure and killing of the many PG aspirants, now will Health Minster take notice of it and take action them?
