| Parents of victim question Police inaction | | Neha Bassan Killing | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 8: Parents of Neha Bassan, w/o Vivek Bassan, inspector J&K Police who was killed mysteriously at her residence have questioned inaction of the Jammu police who have not even registered an FIR in the case more than 11 days after the incident and even the report of the post mortem has not been made public.
At a press conference, the parents of the deceased rued "Even though the victim had died due to bullet injury in her head shot from the service revolver of her husband and same had been recovered by the police, neither FIR has been registered in the case nor Post-mortem report has been made public" the parents said adding that Police have already recorded the statements of parents of victim but till date no statements or investigation has been made from the in-laws despite the fact that the murder took place in broad day light in their presence at their residence at Ustad Mohalla Jammu".
Even though the accused husband of the victim has been lodged in Police custody, the parents of the deceased apprehended that police were allowing time to the accused to destroy the evidence as the accused was posted in CM security.
The parents of the victim appealed constitution of an SIT to fast track the investigations so that the culprits were brought to the book at the earliest.
Neha Bassan the victim was married to Vivek Bassan presently working as Inspector in CM Security wing of J&K Police and was murdered at her in-laws' home on 26.02.2018 and the couple had a male child of 2 years age. |
