Sunderbani, Nowshera witness 20th day of bandh

Jammu, Mar 8: Continuing it's struggle for the status of district, people of Nowshera and Sunderbani today on 20th day staged protest demonstration.
According to reports, people at Nowshera staged protest by carrying Lathis, while as people in Sunderbani carried peaceful protest in support of their demand of according district status to Nowshera and Sunderbani.
Amid bandh, the markets in Sunderbani and Nowshera also witnessed down shutters. While as educational institutions also remained affected. The government offices also recorded thin attendance.
"Our protest has today entered 20th day and will continue if the government did not accorded district status to this area," said a protester in Nowshera, adding that the government must provide separate ADC for the grievances of the people.
A protester from Sunderbani said that the government should not take their agitation forgranted and immediately come up with some solution for the welfare of the people.
They threatened the government that if within short period no decision in this regard is reached, they will intensify the agitation.
Meanwhile Government has agreed to place ADC for one week in Sunderbani and one week in Nowshera for redressal of problems of the people but the locals demanded the assurance from the government representative who personally assures them and till then the strike will continue they added.
