3/8/2018 11:57:58 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 8: The PDP's man in University of Jammu, Prof R D Sharma would continue as Vice-Chancellor, even after his term ends on March 13.
Time and again, his proximity with PDP, has helped him to remain in good books of the PDP leaders. His remarks on militant Burhan Wani's killing or to extend permission to PDP to hold party's event in Zorawar Singh Auditorium have already hogged the headlines.
But, now the PDP, main component of state government has awarded his man with 'extension' in service.
"Consequent upon communication GS-03(Appt.-VC)JU/2018/1324-27 dated 28.02.2018 received from the Principal Secretary to the Governor and as per Statute 12(8) of the Kashmir and Jammu Universities Act, 1969" notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (5), the Vice-Chancellor shall continue in office beyond the expiry of his term until his successor is appointed and enters upon his office", order issued by Registrar, University of Jammu reads and adds that Professor R.D. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu, on completion of his tenure on 12th March, 2018, shall continue in his office beyond the expiry of his term until his successor is appointed.
