Rasana murder case: CM refuses to meet BJP Ministers | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 8: State BJP has performed yet another stand down to stay in power in J&K as it backed off its demand of a CBI inquiry in the infamous case of rape and murder case of a minor girl in Kathua after PDP hardened its stand and outrightly rejected the demand of its coalition partner and the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti refused to meet BJP ministers over the issue. A day after two senior PDP ministers, Naeem Akhtar and Altaf Bukhari strongly defended Crime Branch investigations into the murder case of minor girl in Rasana in Hiranagar of Kathua district, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti refused to meet BJP ministers over the issue. According to the sources, Forest Minister Lal Singh and the Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga had gone to meet Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for apprising her about the public sentiments and demand for handing over of the case to CBI for a fair probe. However, sources added, the Chief Minister refused to meet both the BJP Minister and sent them a clear message that she was not willing to even discuss the issue. However, sources said, the more disappointing was the response of other BJP Ministers who did not come forward in support of the locals, who were demanding CBI probe into the case. While elaborating, sources said that the power hungry BJP does not want confrontation over the issue with the PDP, which has taken a clear stand on it. At the same time, Sangh Parivar is also divided over the issue and some top RSS leaders, who are enjoying fruits of power in J&K, are purportedly suggesting the cadre that the ongoing agitation by locals of Rassana and adjoining areas in Hiranagar was Congress sponsored and a conspiracy to destablise the state Government. |
