HM hawala module busted in Rajouri
Ex-militant among 4 OGWs arrested

RAJOURI, May 12: Police and 48 RR in a joint operation today busted a module of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant outfit involved in hawala money collection by arresting four persons including one ex- militant and three OGWs along with one lakh rupees.
Based on specific information, a major operation was launched and trap was laid by police and 48 RR jointly with police teams headed by DySP Operations Sukhdev Singh and DySP HQRs Jaswant Singh along with Addl SP Rajouri Mohd Yousuf under the supervision of SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas.
Trap was laid at Kallar area of Rajouri on Rajouri-Jammu road during which four persons transacting hard money (cash) were detained and put to questioning.
They were travelling in a car bering registration No. JK22 -1092. They were identified as Ex-Militant of Harkat Ul Mujhadin namely Ajaz Ahmed son of Ghulam Ali resident of Butpora Shopian who surrendered in 2005 and also remained detained under PSA in 2005-07 period.
Other three are OGWs of HM militant outfit namely Mohd Arif son of Mohd Younis resident of Kotli Peer Badesar in Rajouri , Sajjad Ahmed Malla S/O Shakeel Ahmed Malla resident of Maldera Shopian,who remained detained under PSA in 2016 and Khursheed AhmedThokar son of Ghulam Rasool Thokar resident of Hefkuri Shopian.
All the four were put to questioning by police team headed by SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas who divulged that Mohd Arif son of Mohd Yousaf resident of Kotli Peer Badesar in Rajouri used to collect hawala money in Rajouri for militant outfit after which same used to be sent to Kashmir valley.
During initial investigation, it has also come to fore that arrested Sajjad Ahmed Mala was in contact with HM outfit Financial Head Khursheed Ahmed based in PoK and the contact between the duo was got established by militant commander Saddam Padder who was gunned down a week back in Shopian.
After killing of Saddam Paddar, Zeenat has taken over the command of HM in Shopian and it was on his instructions that the three OGWs from Shopian were sent to Rajouri for collection of Hawala money. Further investigation in the case is going on with SSP Rajouri personally supervising the investigation while more arrests cannot be ruled out.
