Sub Division City North organized various sport tournaments

Jammu, May 12: Sub Division City North Jammu, in order to promote sports among youth and to spread awareness against the menace of drugs, recently organized various sport tournaments viz Table Tennis by police station City, Volley Ball by police station Peer Mitha, Carom by police station Bus Stand and Badminton by police station Pacca Danga, under Civic Action Programme 2017-18.
In Table Tennis, girls under 17 years, Iknoor Kour and Rajni Gupta were winner and runner-up,
Cadet Boys under 12 years, Sourav Sharma and Madhav Sharma were winner and runner-up, in
Sub. Junior Boys under-14 years, Saksham Verma and Maanay Mansotra were winner and runner-up, in Junior Boys under-17 years, Saksham Verma and Mannay Mansotra were winner and runner-up, in Volley Ball, Sidhra Sport Club and Trikuta Sport Club were winner and runner-up, in Carom, Boy under-12 years, Jatinder and Ishant were winner and runner-up, in Boy under-15 years, Dinesh and Arsh were winner and runner-up, in Badminton, Boys under 13 years, Viabhav Mehta and Arav Mahajan were winner and runner-up, in Boys under 15 years, Vansh and Yashavi Dubey were winner and runner-up.
Besides, the role of coaches and referees, who helped is successful organizing of these events, were also appreciated by J&K Police and as a token of appreciation, mementos were presented to them. These include Vasu Deewan (Coach fable Tennis), Mulkh Raj Sharma (Volley Ball Refree), Manmohan Sharma & Jagdev Singh Thakur (Carom) & Vikram Singh.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP, Jammu Vivek Gupta-lPS exhorted upon the youth to participate more in sports at all levels and stay away from drugs. He also encouraged the youth to join belt force and serve the society. Prize distribution ceremony was held by Vivek Gupta-IPS, SSP, Jammu who was also the Chief Guest on the occasion along with Dr. Vinod Kumar-IPS, SP City North, Jammu and Pranav Mahajan, SDPO City West, Jammu who were the Guests of Honour. The function was organized by Varun Jandial, SDPO City North, Jammu along with all-SHOs/I/C PPs of Sub. Division City North, Jammu. During vote of thanks, SDPO City North Jammu also appreciated the role of media for giving wide coverage to these tournaments.
