Madhav's lobby plays politics with loyal leader

Early Times Report
Jammu, May 13: In yet another twist in the political arcade of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jammu and Kashmir, an old associate of the saffron party is likely to quit responsibilities, alleging 'no-appreciation' of work by seniors, sources said.
According to sources, despite the recommendations from the senior national leader of the party-Ram Madhav of acknowledging the service of Varinderjeet Singh towards party and appointing him as chairperson of Social Welfare Board, the local unit of the party is dodging his case.
"Varinderjeet is among those 1500 persons, who were signatory when BJP was founded, but owing to poor response and internal bickering within the party, he may quit from responsibilities," said sources, adding that when the party was founded 1500 persons were signatory to it for registration and Varinderjeet Singh was at Serial No. 1290 and since then he is state working committee member of the party.
According to the sources BJP's state unit is deliberately delaying his case as his relation with Ram Madhav's lobby is not good.
"State leadership has deliberately delayed Madhav's recommendation and forwarded it to Chief Minister on last working day of the civil secretariat in Jammu," said sources adding that it was just a mockery to show that the case of Varinderjeet Singh is in process.
Pertinently, on 10th May of 2017, 16 Vice Chairpersons were appointed in different boards and Varinderjeet Singh was also nominated as Vice Chairman in Police Housing Corporation J&K.
Out of 16 vice Chairpersons, 15 were appointed, but appointment of Varinderjeet was caught in controversies, because Vice Chairperson has rank equivalent of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and had to work under Director General of Police (DGP), thus making it practically and legally wrong.
However, exploiting the political clout, J&K unit of BJP is mulling to appoint president of Mahila Morcha as chairperson of the social welfare Board, thus discrediting and demeaning the contributions of Varinderjeet Singh, who is convener of all cells, Prabhari of Rajouri district and State working committee member.
Sources further asserted that shattered by this 'cherry picking', Varinderjeet Singh is likely to tender resignation from all posts.
