Traders meet IGP Jammu Zone, seeks security for Ware House

JAMMU, Nov 23: Seeking foolproof security arrangements for the wholesale traders having their business establishments in the vicinity of Ware House-Nehru Market Jammu, a joint delegation of Traders met with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, SD Singh Jamwal.
The delegation comprising Arun Gupta, ex-General Secretary Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu, Yashpal Gupta, President Retailers Federation, Ramesh Gupta, President Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha Jammu was led by President, Traders Federation Ware House Nehru Market Jammu,
Rattan Lal Gupta and General Secretary Deepak Gupta expressed strong concern over the growing incidents of thefts in the most important market of Jammu. They appealed IGP Singh to take notice of these incidents which have created fear psychosis among the traders.
Citing one recent incident, General Secretary Traders Federation Ware House Nehru Market Jammu Deepak Gupta apprised IGP that in one such incident the thieves broke open the window panes of the car of trader Ramesh Gupta and took away cash amount of Rs 3.50 lakhs with them. The matter was reported to police but the same was not solved till date.
He informed him that earlier too, such type of incidents have happened many a times but no concrete steps have been taken to solve them while as many a times the thefts were brought into notice of incharge of police post ware house and SHO Gandhi Nagar but least efforts were done to solve the theft cases. Gupta requested IGP to issue directions to the concerned police officials of Chowki and Police Station Gandhi Nagar so as to solve the cases of the thefts and growing other crime activities in the area.
IGP Singh listened to the grievances of the traders carefully and assured them that the concerned police officials will be directed to look into the matter positively.
