Udhampur/Kishtwar, Nov 23: In Kishtwar district on the eve of polling a contesting candidate Sewa Ram promised voters to work for only 3 days to get full benefits@ Rs 15000 from the MGNREGA scheme.
Apart from this the candidate also made many false claims and blamed his predecessors for wrongdoings. He told many false stories of MGNREGA and assured votes that he would do anything for them if they vote for him.
"The District Election Officer should take cognisance of this as this is an open violation of Model Code of Conduct," another candidate contesting for the post of Sarpanch told Early Times.
Just a few hours before the elections Sewa Ram misguided the voters this is violation of MCC, he added.
When contacted Angrez Singh Rana, District Election Officer Kishtwar said, "So far I have not received any complaint in this regard. I will take action after someone approaches me with a formal complaint." |
