| Prof Anil conferred ISWS Fellow award | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 23: ProfessorAnil Kumar, Associate Director Research, Advanced Centre for Rainfed Agriculture, Sher-e- Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences &Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) has been conferred with prestigious "Indian Society of Weed Science Fellow Award" for the year 2016-17.
The honour is conferred to him for his significant contribution to the field of Weed Science.
The award was presented to him during Inaugural Session of International Conference of Indian Society of Weed Science, ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur on 21st -23rd Nov. 2018 which is celebrating its Golden Jubilee. Professor Anil Kumar graduated in Agriculture form the SKUAST-J&K, obtained his M.Sc. in Agronomy from HPKV-Palampur and Ph.D. from PAU-Ludhiana. He has served the state agriculture department and SKUAST-J in different capacities including Agriculture Extension Officer, Assistant Professor Agronomy, programme coordinator of KVK and is presently working as Associate Director Research at ACRA, Dhainsar, Sher-e- Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology-Jammu.
He has more than eighty research papers in national and international journals to his credit, ten books and more than thirty chapters in various edited books.
He was involved in 8 research projects taken up in the Division from time to time funded by various agencies like, NATP (ICAR), HTMM-I (ICAR), AICRP etc. as Principal Investigator.
He is life member of nine national and four international scientific societies, Vice-president of one and councillor of two National Societies besides being on the panel of referees for various national and international journals. He is extensively involved in teaching UG, PG courses for the last fifteen years having guided a good number of M.Sc. and Ph.D students and has organized two summer schools sponsored by ICAR. |
