ASCOMS organizes zonal round of IAP quiz for postgraduates

JAMMU, Dec 1: The zonal round of 12th Indian Academy of Paediatrics(IAP) Quiz for Postgraduates was organised in ASCOMS auditorium.
This Annual affair was organised by the Department of Pediatrics under supervision of Dr. Ravinder Kumar Gupta, Prof. & Head Paediatrics Department and Zonal Coordinator.
Dr. Rashi Gupta and Dr. Manu Singh from SMS Medical College Jaipur, Dr. Muthuval Ranjangam and Dr. Akshita Soni from MAMC Delhi, Dr. Deepanjan and Dr. Srinivas from PGI Chandigarh and Dr. Kashish Gupta and Dr. Kartik from GMC Jammu were the participating teams. Dr. Deepanjan and Dr. Srinivas from PGI Chandigarh emerged as winners in a tight contest. GMC Jammu team was runners up.
The scientific activity was witnessed by faculty members of ASCOMS as well as from GMC Jammu. Residents, both post as well as undergraduates also witnessed the quiz. The students among the enthusiastic audience did participate in this quiz and won lots of prizes.
Dr. Suraj Gupte Prof. & Head (Emeritus) and advisor Mamata Medical College Khammam Hyderabad was the Chief Guest on this occasion. He congratulated the organizers for informative scientific activity. He also appreciated the efforts of Director Principal, Dr. Pavan Malhotrain encouraging in conduct of such activity. Dr. Rekha Harish Prof. & Head GMC Jammu who was guest of honour appreciated the efforts of organizing team for successful conduct of this quiz. She was congratulated by Dr. Pavan Malhotra for being elected as Vice president North Zone of IAP. He also appreciated the efforts of Department of Paediatrics bringing laurels to the Institution. Later, Dr. Suraj Gupte, Dr. Rekha Harish, Dr. Pavan Malhotra and Dr. Ravinder K Gupta felicitated the participants and winners.
The winning team will compete in national round to be held in Mumbai in Feb 2019. It is pertinent to mention that ASCOMS Institute under the supervision of Dr. Ravinder K. Gupta was chosen to host this important activity among the hundred medical institutions in North India by Central IAP.
Dr. Harkirat Kour, Dr. Ifra Rasool, Dr. Jatanbir Singh and Dr. Vikas Sharma assisted in conducting the Quiz. Dr. Ravinder K. Gupta and Dr. Anuj were quiz Masters. Dr. Pallavi Sharma managed the stage.
