‘Roads within municipal limits are in worst condition'

Udhampur, Dec 16: The present condition of roads in the Udhampur city raises serious questions over the credibility of the municipality. Worried about the bad condition roads around CEO office to Dandyal and adjoining areas, the residents have appealed to the concerned authorities to maintain the road as the earliest .
Mostly the Kashmiri Migrants living in Dandyal area and worst suffers due to neglecting attitude of department concerned. "Due to bad condition of Chief Education office (CEO) to Dandyal and adjoining roads and lack proper drainage system, the locals are facing problems. This problem manifolds during rainy season, the roads turn into small ponds.
Mostly the students of the area worst suffers, as per the locals around 8000 persons of Dandyal area suffer due to bad shape of road . Locals alleged that from last 26 years this road was not properly blacktopped.
They said about 20,000 people move on the road daily and experience difficulties.
Romesh Kumar local while talking to ET said that in the year 2014 the road was once blacktopped but sub-standard material was used and the road is again in dilapidated condition.
Koushalaya Devi, a local while talking to ET said that the road is in worst condition and it is very difficult to walk on it.
Chief Planning Officer Udhampur said that said road is in our notice. According to him, Dandyal area has now been included in the municipality. He assured to prepare a DPR about the said road.
