Equality disappears while dealing PoK DPs: Prof Sharma
12/28/2018 8:37:25 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 28: The indefinite Chain Dharna kick started by S. O. S. International - An Organization for PoK Displaced Persons today entered in Day 2. Led by Prof. N. N. Sharma 5 other DPs were also sat on Dharna against cruel and discriminatory approach of Government during dealing with the issues of PoK DPs who lost their everything during tribal invasion in their erstwhile ancestral places.
All the protestors criticized and displayed aggression against Government over adopting disparity among displaced communities. "The Chain Dharna was launched over main key issues related to PoK DPs in which implementation of PoK DPs package passed by NC-Congress Cabinet in 2014 in toto, implementation of uniform policy for all the migrants/displaced communities including PoK DPs, establishment of corridors for PoK DPs to visit their religious places & shrines located in PoK, restoration of 1/3rd i.e. 8 seats lying vacant for PoK areas in Legislative Assembly, inclusion of 5300 DPs families living outside the J&K State in the ambit of package for PoK DPs and return of cash deposits of PoK DPs lying in the J&K Bank, Mirpur Branch", stated by Prof. N. N. Sharma.
While speaking in Chain Dharna, Prof. N. N. Sharma said that if you look at the history of world, none of the communities has witnessed such horrible and terrible Human Rights violations and have waited for such a long time for their rehabilitation. "It has been more than 7 decades; PoK DPs have been waiting for justice and resolution of their demands but unfortunately they have not been provided with absolute justice but on the contrary, they are being duped by one or other hostile forces
He further stated that the preamble of constitution of India and State promise equality to all the citizens of the country but it is missing while dealing with cause of PoK DPs. For valley Migrants, Government has opened its Pandora box but it has shown the slavish facet while dealing with PoK DPs. This specific policy of Government is unacceptable and intolerable and now PoK DPs have decided to have facilities at par with Valley Migrants. PoK DPs were forced to sit on fast unto death as they didn't have any other option. What can be more inauspicious to PoK DPs who are tortured by their own elected Government?", he asked.
