Despite being 'yes men' of Mehbooba, BJP leaders face ire of their former boss
PDP president blames everyone for failure of her Govt, forgets she acted like a 'dictator'

Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 28: Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti is missing no opportunity to put the entire blame about non-performance of her erstwhile government on the BJP, her former coalition ally.
Meetings of the PDP workers which she chaired during the past few days in Jammu region, according to the sources, revolved around BJP bashing.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said that recent statements of Mehbooba Mufti about the BJP ministers being under performers should serve as an eye opener for the BJP leaders, who during their hey days, acted like "yes men" and "second fiddles" of PDP leaders and compromised with the interests of Jammu region.
He said, "When Mehbooba Mufti ruled the state she acted like a dictator and rarely sought any suggestions from the BJP ministers and ensured that her agenda remains confined to Kashmir and Kashmir only."
A politician said that during the meetings which she held in Jammu during the past few days were all about how her government failed and who all were responsible for the failure of PDP-BJP coalition. "She (Mehbooba) blamed everyone accept herself but wittingly or unwittingly she admitted that she failed as a leader and couldn't take everyone along," the politician added.
He said that BJP leaders should sit back and introspect how they acted when they shared power with the PDP. "They (BJP) leaders took utmost care to ensure that Mehbooba and her aides don't get offended and gave her a free hand to run the state," the politician said.
He said that had the BJP leaders put their foot down and opposed the Kashmir centric policies of the former Chief Minister today they could have been in a better position in Jammu region at least they could have saved their face. "The BJP leaders have to face the people in coming months and it would be seen that what they promise this time around to the people. Promises which they had made during the 2014 election campaign turned out to be a hoax as they (BJP leaders) couldn't fulfill any of their commitments," the politician added.
An observer said, "Despite Mehbooba Mufti training her guns at the BJP leaders the leaders of the saffron party are not even uttering a word. It seems they are still in no mood to annoy their former boss and want to remain in her good books."
