Early Times Report
Kathua, Dec 28: The residents of Kathua are in arms over the negligent view of the State administration for not looking up the development of MAHANAAL Shiv Caves, one of the most beautiful amazingly place of Kathua District in J&K State.
The cave is situated in the foothill and beauty of the place is worth mentioning. The followers of Mahanaal Shiv caves alleged that why the State Government is focusing more on Shiv Khori (Reasi), Budha Amarnath (Poonch), Aap Shambu & Ranbireshwar (Jammu). Uncertainty, the million dollar question that arises is why the administration of J&K State is not interested to promote the MAHANAAL Shiv Caves at par with national and international levels when thousands and lakhs of devotees visited this place every year on 01st January (New year day) and Mahashivratri Festival and even in the month of Shravans including Sundays or Tuesdays or Festival occasions throughout the year. There is another cave opposite to the cave of Lord Shiva which has 9 series of temples of Goddess Mahashakti Maa Vaishnavi. During the Shivratri and 01st January every year, Bhandaras and Langers are organized for the devotees by many voluntary organizations. Besides, local peoples surrounding Mahanaal also come forward to arrange facilities for the devotees who visited there.
In a handout statement issued, it is really sad to notice that this place of religious importance lacks basic amenities i.e. proper road connectivity, street lights, infrastructure development. During the Mela or Festivals, devotees have to face number of difficulties which include passing through tough, small and hilly terrain full of dust and non-availability of Hotel resorts, road-bridge network and medical aid facilities. However, the much-awaited construction work on double-lane span bridge over Ujh river, Jathana under CRF (Central Road Fund Scheme) worth Rs. 45 crores has been earmarked is in slow progress condition which was laid down by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon'ble PMO inaugurated in April-2016 at Jakhole. The undergoing construction of span bridge situating at Jakhole near Mahanaal connects to Jathana island, the opposite magnificent view side of Mountains and Ujh river from Jakhole.
The residents of Jakhole putforth pending demand since a decade long time for construction of a small bridge at Jakhole Khad Nallah near PHE water motor-pump site which facing a lot of problems for the convenience of nearby villagers and even school students including the devotees / pilgrims especially in rainy days (spring season) who visited the MAHANAAL Shiv caves for fulfilled their worshipping at this holy place. But the district administration of State Government is not serious to look on this very important part for the betterment and development of Mahanaal Touristy at various stage level works.
They appealed to Satya Paul Malik, Governor of Jammu & Kashmir and Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon'ble Minister of State in PMO, Government of India to intervene in these matters that more efforts need to be made to bring MAHANAAL Holy Shiv caves on the globetrotting map of INDIA for promotion of Tourism sector in Kathua District of J&K State so that the inherent pilgrim potential of the MAHANAAL site is explored throughout the country in all States of India and utilized to the maximum possible extent at par with such facilities and arrangements maintained by the State Government Agencies like at Amarnath (Srinagar) & Mani Mahesh (Himachal Pradesh) routes. It also appeals to all Jammu Citizens to visit the MAHANAAL Shiv Caves on this New Year 2019 and upcoming Shivratri Festival to promote this place at a large scale.
