Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 28: Anti Corruption Bureau Kashmir booked officials of the revenue department who allegedly mentioned huge chunks of government land as propriety land in favour of private beneficiaries against huge pecuniary benefits.
The registration of the instant case is the outcome of a verification conducted by this organization which looked into the allegations of Patwaris/Girdawars of village Balhama Khrew while preparing new Girdawari/Jamabandi (Record of rights) and who against huge pecuniary benefits have mentioned hundreds of kanals of Government land as proprietary land. During verification it surfaced that the concerned Revenue officer/officials namely Ashiq Ali Khan, the then Patwari, Abdul Hamid Khan, the then Girdawar and Mohammad yousuf Dar, the then settlement officer by abuse and misuse of their official position and in league with private beneficiaries have fraudulently made fictitious entries under various khasra numbers in the relevant revenue records.
Besides this, they also transferred certain migrant properties directly in favour of non-migrants without adopting the proper procedure and without following the requisites of J&K Migrant Act 1994, thus conferring undue benefit to the beneficiaries for their own pecuniary gain and corresponding loss to the state exchequer.
