ACR, Naib Tehsildar, Patwari booked in corruption charges

Jammu, Dec 28: Anti-Corruption Bureau booked three revenue officials including Shafiq Ahmed, then ACR Poonch, Bashir Ahmed Khaki, then Naib Tehsildar Haveli and Zaffar Iqbal, then Patwari halqa Degwar/Ajote for allegedly issuing Fard Intikhab in respect of Forest/State land to Villagers who further sold the land to land grabbers from Degwar to Ajote Haveli.
"Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today registered two formal cases vide No.44/2018 and 45/2018 u/s 5(1)(d) r/w section 5(2) of J&K P.C Act Svt. 2006 & section 120-B RPC at police station ACB, Jammu against accused revenue officers /officials and private beneficiaries namely Ali Mohd. Son of Kaka Gujjar, Nazir Hussain son of Fazla Gujjar of Deh and Masood Ahmed son of Mohd. Shaffi Gujjar of Chandak", said spokesman of Anti Corruption Bureau.
Spokesman further said that the instant cases were registered on the basis of verification conducted by Anti Corruption Bureau pursuant to the written complaint lodged against the above named accused persons.
He said that the verification conducted revealed that the accused revenue officials under a well planned criminal conspiracy hatched with private beneficiaries, by misuse/abuse of their official positions for their undue benefits illegally prepared and attested mutations No.1040 under LB-6/C of 1958, mutation No.1055 under S-432 of 1966, mutation No.1013 under LB-6/C of 1958, mutation No.882 under LB-6/C of 1958 and mutation No.971 under S-432 of 1966 for the state /forest land despite of fact that the said beneficiaries were not in continuing possession of land said land in the year 1957-58 which is pre-requisite for conferment of ownership rights under LB-6/C of 1958 and S-432 of 1966 in favour of the beneficiaries.
On the prima facie establishment of offences, the instant cases have been registered in police station ACB, Jammu and investigation taken up, said spokesman.
