DPS Nagbani organizes Puppet Show

Jammu, Dec 28: The students of Pre-Nursery to Prep. got the taste of puppet show organised by the teachers of DPS Nagbani.
They used colourful puppets with interesting story narration associated with the moral. With a history in the subcontinent for over thousands of years, puppetry is still going strong when it comes to promoting the region's rich culture. Puppet is one of the main features of such performing arts.
The skillfully made forms and their colourful shades and sizes attracted children and motivated them to not only see the puppet show from a distance but also take interest in the folklore behind the story and the massage instilled in it. Puppets are a wonderful tool to use in the pre school classroom for all ages. It doesn't really matter what kind of puppet we use, infact we can just talk with our hands and kids find it funny.
The students were enthralled to watch their favourite characters come alive during the puppet show. They were in for a special treat as the puppet show captured their attention and opened doors to their imagination. Since time immemorial puppetry has proven itself to be a powerful medium of story telling which not only leaves an impact on the students but also strengthens their language skills. It was a novel experience for the children and one that they enjoyed immensely.
The programme kept them deeply engrossed and they applauded the performances with claps and loud cheers. The Coordinator of the school appreciated and the efforts of the teachers on presenting the puppet show and said that it not only gave an enjoyable time to the students but also acted as a device to change the entire atmosphere creating more possibilities for creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and curiosity.
