Lok Adalat held in Bhaderwah

Bhaderwah, Dec 30: A Lok Adalat was held today in the District Court complex under the chairmanship of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Bhaderwah (Doda) , Pawan Dev Kotwal.
Two benches were constituted to deal and settle the cases referred to the Lok Adalat. A total of 20 cases were taken up in the Lok Adalat by two benches in which MACT, bank matters, labour disputes, civil and criminal cases were settled.
An amount of Rs. 7,00,000 was settled. The lok adalat was attended by litigants, Bar members, prosecution and staff of courts. Bar Association members said the Lok Adalats were being organised to ensure speedy justice and save the people from lengthy court proceedings as there were minimal chances of further litigation or dispute in the cases solved in Lok Adalats.
