Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Dec 30: The Gram Rozgar Sewak (GRS) who have allegedly been appointed in the Rural Development Department by the DCs/ACDs across Jammu and Kashmir without proper advertisement have not been paid for months despite the High Court directions.
As per the details available with "Early Times", hundreds of GRS including those of Kishtwar District had been denied salaries since last nearly 10 months on the grounds that they have not been appointed through proper procedure.
Speaking to "Early Times" some of the GRS questioned the double standard of the government as well as the department as they are not the only ones who were appointed by the department without proper advertisement.
They added that even technical assistants, Computer operators & JEs were appointed by the department without advertisement notices .
They said that they implemented the Swatch Bharat Mission (SBM) on ground and Geo Tag the toilets constructed across the District for which they were assured the incentives of Rs. 150/toilet but till date nothing was given to them by the government.
They said that they were made to work like bounded laborers during Panchayat elections and were asked to implement Health Depart-ment related schemes, but when it came to paying us our salaries, the authorities had no answers.
They said that Technical Assistants and JEs appointed on fake degrees had robbed the Marwah, Dachhan and Warwan blocks and were being paid salaries, while the poor GRS were being denied their regular salaries despite High Court orders. They blamed the dictatorial attitude of ACD Kishtwar Anil Chandail and BDOs concern for their plight and added that after Court directions.
They said that even after serving the department since last 8-10 years, their appointments are being questioned and sought the intervention of the Governor's administration to deliver justice to them.
