| Mendhar people seek separate GDCs for Mankote, Balakote | | |

Poonch, Dec 30: People have demanded separate degree colleges for Mankote and Balakote tehsil in sub division Mendhar, which were situated on the extreme corner of the border and thickly populated said, Ex NC MLA Rahim Butt while addressing a public meeting here today.
He said the student of Mankote and Balakote have to go far further studies to Degree college Mendhar which falls at a long distance yet the people of Mankote and Balakote feel that separate degree colleges be given to both tehsils Rahim demanded. He said both Mankote and Balakote in sub division Mendhar were last corners of the border situated near the line of control.
Here the students have to face many hardships to reach the GDC Mendhar which was already catering a large number of students of the sub division. He stressed upon the need that giving a degree college to each tehsil was the need of the hour.
He urged upon the state administration to pay a heed to the genuine demand of the people of both tehsils including the student fraternity, Butt added. |
